Peggy Wiltrout is active freelance oboist and teacher in the New York City area. She plays and contracts musicians for the Staten Island Philharmonic, the Long Island Choral Society, the Richmond Choral Society, and the Arcadian Choral. She plays principal oboe in the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea and the Viva Voce Chamber Ensemble. Peggy teaches private lessons at her home and at the Lucy Moses School for Music and Dance.
She has toured extensively with Broadway shows in the US, Europe and the Far East. Before moving to NYC she played with the Birmingham, Shreveport, and Virginia State Symphony Orchestras. Peggy received her Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University. Her main teachers were Jerry Sirucek, Grover Schiltz and DeVere Moore.
