Former Alfred University Professor of Nursing Passes
Kay A. (Bown) Buschle, who taught nursing at Alfred University in the 1960’s, died Jan. 1, 2017, in Syracuse, N.Y., after a brief residency at Iroquois Nursing Home.
A lifelong resident of Central Square, NY., she graduated from Central Square High School and earned her bachelor's degree in 1957 and master's degree in 1962 from the School of Nursing, Syracuse University. In addition to serving as a professor of nursing at Alfred University, she spent a majority of her professional career as a professor of nursing in the School of Nursing at Syracuse University, before retiring in 1994.
Her obituary notice in The Syracuse Post Standard noted she “found great enjoyment boating on Oneida Lake and socializing with her nursing colleagues, friends, neighbors, and family.”
