Former Randall Chair Fellow exhibiting work at Guggenheim
Lenka Clayton, who was the 2008 Randall Chair Fellow in the School of Art & Design at Alfred University, and her collaborator John Rubin have a newly opened exhibition, “Circle through New York,” that just opened at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, NY. It will remain on view through Aug. 31.
Clayton and Rubin are fellows in Guggenheim’s newly created Social Practice initiative, described as “committed to exploring ways in which artists and the museum can collaborate to initiate projects that foster new forms of public engagement through community participation. Guggenheim Social Practice artists are selected based on an in-depth review of their impact within the field of socially engaged art, as well as their ability to positively connect with members of the public.”
Clayton is currently an artist-in-residence at the Fabric Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia, PA, where her solo exhibition, “Object Temporarily Removed,” will remain on view through July 9.
