Alumna to deliver prestigious McLaren Lecture at Rutgers
Dr. Kathleen Richardson ’82, who earned her master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Alfred University as well, will deliver the Malcolm G. McLaren Distinguished Lecture at Rutgers University at 4:20 p.m. Friday, March 31, at the Fiber Optic Materials Research Building – Busch Campus.
Richardson’s topic will be “Chalcogenide glasses – a versatile platform for innovations in the infrared.”
To be invited to deliver the McLaren Lecture is considered to be among the most prestigious honors in the field of glass science engineering.
Richardson is a distinguished photonics and optical materials researcher at the University of Central Florida. She is a past president and Fellow of the American Ceramics Society.
She has been a member of the Alfred University Board of Trustees since 2006.
