Alfred University’s undergraduate business school among top-rated in New York State

Alfred University’s undergraduate programs in business are among the top 25 in New York State, according to a new ranking released Monday by Top Management Degrees.

Among the 100 undergraduate business programs in New York State evaluated by Top Management Degrees, Alfred University ranked 21.

“Top Management Degrees' business education rankings are designed to help prospective students make a smart choice about where to invest their time and money,” said Tammy Cagle, editor, in making the announcement. “We are committed to connecting people to inspiring ideas and high quality educational opportunities. We are confident that students will find both at Alfred University.”

“This is a wonderful affirmation of the quality of our programs,” said Alfred University President Mark Zupan, who had previously been dean of two schools of business before coming to Alfred in July 2016. He credited the leadership of the School of Business –  Nancy Evangelista, dean of the College of Professional Studies, which include the School of Business, and Mark Lewis, director of the undergraduate business program – as well as the talented faculty and committed students.

The four criteria for the Top Management Degrees recognition are accreditation, affordability, alumni salary, and ranking,” noted Evangelista. “Alfred University has a winning combination of these four attributes, and I think we are only going to get better with the talent and experience of our faculty and leadership now on board! The opportunities for experiential learning at Alfred, including student-run businesses, student-managed investments, consultation projects with community business clients, and internship opportunities result in great jobs for our graduates and value for the businesses which hire them.”

“Students can earn a highly accredited undergraduate business degree in Alfred University’s School of Business,” according to Top Management Degrees. “This school was selected for our list because of their excellent accreditations and solid return on investment.”

Alfred University’s School of Business is accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate level by AACSB, which Top Management Degrees said is “widely regarded as the elite standard among business accreditations.”

Top Management Degrees said New York State has more than 100 schools that offer undergraduate degrees in business. Each was vetted on accreditation; affordability; the average alumni salary, as determined by PayScale’s College Salary Report that looks at early-career salaries, and prestige, based on ranking in U.S. News and World Report and The Princeton Review.
