Luanne Crosby, Professor of Music, will perform at the Cleveland Institute of Music on July 18

Luanne Crosby has been invited to present a lunchtime recital at the Cleveland Institute of Music(CIM) at 12:30 on July 18.   Crosby will be joined by her good friend and fellow CIM alumna, Kim Cook on cello.  They will be accompanied by pianist, Kayoko Miyazawa, a recent graduate of the collaborative piano program at CIM.  CIM, with its access to Severance Hall and the Cleveland music scene is fast becoming one of the top conservatories in the country.

Cook, a faculty member at Penn State University is an accomplished cellist with international as well as national recognition. Crosby and Cook were students in the doctoral program at CIM and Case Western Reserve University.  The last collaborated when Cook traveled with the AU Chamber Singers to Peru and accompanied the choir on a commissioned piece by composer Jeffrey Ryan set to the poetry of AU’s own Carol Burdick.  This recital will be the first full length program that Crosby and Cook will perform together.

The recital begins at 12:30PM and will be live streamed as well as recorded.  The program includes works for cello and soprano by Gwyneth Walker, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Francis Poulenc, Amy Beach, André Previn and Leonard Bernstein.  Alfred listeners can access the performance at
