Alfred University Bergren Forum: Professors to share experiences ‘teaching, touring and eating’ in China
Two Alfred University professors of Performing Arts, who spent the Spring 2017 semester on sabbatical in the People’s Republic of China, will share their experiences at the first Bergren Forum of the semester at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, in Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center on the Alfred University campus.
Stephen Crosby, professor of Theater, and Dr. Luanne Crosby, professor of Vocal Music, were invited to teach at China University of Geosciences in Wuhan, Hubei Province, through the auspices of the Alfred University Confucius Institute. They will talk about their experiences “teaching, touring and eating” in China in a lecture entitled “China: Terra Cotta Warrior, Fish Head Soup and ‘Fiddler on the Roof.’”
The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Alfred University, is held at 12:10 p.m. each Thursday during the academic year in Nevins Theater. Those attending may bring their own lunches. Coffee and tea will be provided.
