Join Alfred University ceramic art professor at museum for international ‘conversation’
Members of the public are invited to join Linda Sormin, associate professor of Ceramic Art in the School of Art & Design at Alfred University, for her part in “ Artaxis Conversations: 24 artists, 16 countries, 12 hours, an international event in conjunction with National Clay Week.
Sormin will be broadcasting her portion live, to be aired 8-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, from the seminar room at the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum on the Alfred University campus.
The Museum will be airing the full program, which features 24 artists from 16 countries talking about their art, as well as answering questions submitted by members of the audience through the Artaxis web site, during a 12-hour period, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday.
Twenty-four Artaxis members from 16 countries will answer questions, discuss their work, and share their perspective on the ceramic field through live streaming video on Facebook Live. All of the videos will also be streamed on the Artaxis Facebook page.
Sormin is a 2003 graduate of Alfred University, and has been a member of the faculty of the Division of Ceramic Art since 2016.
