Cheryl Foster, procurement specialist at Alfred University, has earned her certification as a professional in supply management from the Institute for Supply Management.
Foster began working at Alfred University in 2007, and was made a procurement assistant in August 2011. She was promoted to procurement specialist in May 2014.
“This is an outstanding achievement,” said Donna Sturdevant, director of procurement and mail services for Alfred University.
Professional certification is awarded to those who have “demonstrated a specific level of knowledge and experience,” according to the Institute for Supply Management. “Such professionals are an important part of the skilled management team necessary to meet the challenges in today’s competitive global environment.”
