Former roller derby player to speak at next Women’s and Gender Studies Roundtable
ALFRED, NY – A former women’s roller derby player and coach will share her experiences at Alfred University’s next Women’s and Gender Studies Roundtable.
Kathy Lisborg, who under the name Vile Love It competed and coached in the Queen City Roller Girls organization, will speak at the Women’s and Gender Studies Roundtable Friday, Nov. 3, from 12:20 to 1:10 p.m. at Alfred University’s Judson Leadership Center. In her program, titled “Roller Derby: The Best Self Care,” Lisborg will share her experiences as a former skater and coach for several teams in the Buffalo, NY-based Queen City Roller Girls.
A resident of Fayetteville, NY, Lisborg skated seven years (2011-17) for four different teams and coached three others. In addition, she also served as public relations chairperson for the Queen City Roller Girls, a travel organization that competes in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association.
The Women’s and Gender Studies Roundtables are free and open to the public. Light refreshments are served.
