Carrier Band announces upcoming performances
ALFRED, NY – Two professors and an alumna from in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design will present musical performances at upcoming events in Brooklyn and Oneonta, NY.
Peer Bode, professor of video art, Andrew Deutsch, professor of sound design and video arts, and Peer along with Rebekkah Palov, an Alfred University alumna (MFA, electronic integrated arts, NYS College of Ceramics), will perform as Carrier Band.
The trio will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, on the campus of Brooklyn College as part of “Symposium: Legacies of Pauline Oliveros,” a two-day event honoring the late experimental composer and electronic music pioneer. Carrier Band’s performance, titled “Crossing the Snowstorm,” will be held in Brooklyn College’s Shapeshifter Lab.
Carrier Band is also set to give a performance titled “Across the Land” on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Martin-Mullen Art Gallery/Project Space Gallery, SUNY Oneonta. The performance is part of a reception held for the “Visionaries in New Media” exhibition featuring the works of Bode and artists Lillian Schwartz and Carlos Rosas.
Formed in 1998, Carrier Band performs with electronic instruments. The group recently performed in Zhangzhou and Shenyang, China.
