Alfred University to host performances by dance students
ALFRED, NY – Alfred University will host two evenings of informal performances by dance students, Thursday, Nov. 30, and Friday, Dec. 1, from 7-8 p.m. each night in C.D. Smith III Theater, Miller Performing Arts Center.
Each evening will feature a new lineup of dances performed by students of Alfred University faculty D. Chase Angier, professor of dance, and Colleen Culley, visiting assistant professor of dance.
The students are in Angier’s and Culley’s courses: Composition I, Fundamentals of Dance, Modern I, Jazz, and New and Existing Repertory. Students in the New and Existing Repertory course will perform Chair Pillow by Yvonne Rainer, American master choreographer, and a new piece by Angier. The evenings will also feature original works by independent choreographers.
The event is free and open to the public. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early, as the theater fills up quickly for these performances.
