Arts Council of Southern Finger Lakes honorees include Alfred University alumna

ELMIRA, NY – Alfred University alumna Amy Ruza is a recipient of the 2017 ARTS Partnership Award from the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Ruza earned a BFA degree from Alfred University in 2006, with a concentration in glass and ceramics. She and other award recipients of 2017 Arts Awards will be honored at a ceremony Dec. 7, 6-8 p.m., at the Clemens Center, 207 Clemens Center Parkway in Elmira, NY.

She is currently the Youth and Family Programs Educator at The Rockwell Museum in Corning and previously worked at The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes. While at the ARTS Council, she sustained the National Youth Art Month project, and because of her efforts it still exists today.

Ruza has volunteered at the Corning Children’s Center as well as The ARTS Council’s annual fundraiser, Recycled Runway. She also helped develop a summer program for youth called “The Garden of Fire,” the Rockwell Museum’s “El Dia de los Muertos” program and the Falling Leaves Festival.
