Alfred University alumnus to present next Environmental Studies Speaker Series talk
ALFRED, NY – Salvatore Mangiafico, extension agent at Rutgers University and a 1996 Alfred University graduate, will speak at the next Environmental Studies Speakers Series, scheduled for 12:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in Roon Lecture Hall, Science Center, on the Alfred University campus.
Mangiafico will deliver a presentation titled “Addressing Fecal Contamination Impacting a Public Swimming Beach in a Small Urban Community.” The program is free and open to the public.
Mangiafico earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in environmental studies and philosophy from Alfred University in 1996 and a Ph.D. in plant science-soil science from the University of Connecticut in 2005. He is environmental and resource management agent (associate professor) at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cumberland County, New Jersey.
