Alfred University Food Pantry notes next distribution date
ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University Food Pantry will hold its next distribution on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Organizers are asking for volunteers to assist with the distribution, which will be held from 12-3 p.m. Volunteers are also invited to help with collection of donated items and promoting the food pantry. Anyone interested in helping can email Kathy Woughter, vice president of Student Affairs at Alfred University, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The food pantry, which benefits students and members of the campus and local communities, opened in October, with the first distribution held on Oct. 21. Located on the Alfred University campus in the Judson Leadership Center, corner of Ford and Sayles streets, the pantry distributes food once a month. Organizers hope that as the program grows, distributions will be held more frequently.
Non-perishable food items can be donated at various points on the Alfred University campus. In addition to the Judson Leadership Center, donated items can be dropped off at the information desk and Center for Student Involvement, Powell Campus Center, McLane Center, and the Science Center (Biology Department).
The Alfred University Food Pantry is funded by financial contributions from Larry Sell of Hornell, a 1972 Alfred University graduate. Anyone wishing to provide financial support for the food pantry should contact Woughter by phone at 607-871-2132 or by email.
