Alfred University professor Angier to co-curate project at Prague Quadrennial
ALFRED, NY – D. Chase Angier, professor of dance at Alfred University, will co-curate a project at the Prague Quadrennial 2019.
The Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space is held every four years and recognizes the best of performance design, scenography, and theater architecture. The 2019 event will be held June 6-16, 2019, at the Industrial Palace and Prague Exhibition Grounds in Prague, Czech Republic.
Angier and Swiss architect Serge Von Arx will co-curate Formations, a collaborative project between architects, choreographers and performance designers that explores the merging of architecture and performance.
According to the Prague Quadrennial website, Formations “addresses artists and architects from all fields who work with, or want to explore the merging of architecture and performance with a time-based performative action in the public space that explores patterns.”
Angier and Von Arx announced the call for submissions for Formations during the Symposium Porous Borders, a symposium for curators and scenographers held Oct. 12-14, 2017, in Prague. The announcement of works chosen for inclusion in Formations will be made June 15.
