Alfred University alumni’s band takes the stage on ‘Conan’
The band Ghost of Paul Revere, two-thirds of which are Alfred University alumni, made its television debut Wednesday on the late-night show “Conan.”
The Portland, ME-based folk band is made up of guitarist-vocalist Griffin Sherry (left in photo), banjo player-vocalist Max Davis (right in photo) and bassist Sean McCarthy. Sherry and Davis graduated from Alfred University in 2010 with BFA degrees in art and design.
The trio, who grew up together in southern Maine – Sherry and Davis in Buxton; McCarthy in neighboring Hollis – founded the band in 2011. Their debut full-length album, “Believe,” was released in 2014 and the following year they put out an EP, “Field Notes Vol. 1”. Their second LP, “Monarch,” was released last year.
Ghost of Paul Revere performs at festivals and in venues across the country. The show on “Conan” (TBS, hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien) was taped Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 24) at the TBS studios in Los Angeles and aired that night. After taping, the band did a show at the nearby Hotel Café, with special guest Zach Jones, another Maine musician.
