Brother Earth wins Showcase Tour event in New Jersey
The musical quartet Brother Earth, whose members all have ties to Alfred University, will compete for a chance to participate in a 30-date concert tour sponsored by The Showcase Tour.
The Showcase Tour is a concert series and competition that travels to 20 different cities around the country, with competition winners determined by fan voting. Brother Earth participated in and won a Showcase Tour competition Jan. 31 in Secaucus, NJ. The quartet also won a competition last October in Queens, NY, earning it the right to take the stage at the Jan. 31 Showcase Tour event.
By winning the Jan. 31 competition, Brother Earth is qualified to be part of an upcoming Showcase Tour competition, date and location to be announced. The winner of that event will earn an all-expenses-paid spot on The Showcase Tour’s 30-show concert tour this summer.
Members of the Brother Earth quartet are: Antonius Chess, a senior from Rochester, who is a geology and environmental studies major with a minor in biology; Frankie Irving, a junior from Brooklyn, who is majoring in criminal justice; Isaac Perez, a senior from Poughkeepsie, who is a mechanical engineering major with a minor in mathematics, and Quintin Reed of Hartford, CT, who graduated in May 2017. A political science major with a minor in philosophy, Reed was the recipient of a Marlin Miller Outstanding Senior Award.
