Four Alfred University alumni will perform as soloists at Theresa Mass choral concert
ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University Chorus and Chamber Singers will perform the Theresa Mass, by Franz Josef Haydn, on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Alfred Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Guest conductor Adam Potter will lead the choirs, accompanied on organ by Laurel Buckwalter, Alfred University carillonneur and instructor in music (emeritus). The concert will feature the following four AU alumni soloists:
Rachel Romack (soprano), a 2016 graduate (BA, psychology/theater). A resident of Rochester, Romack works with a pediatric therapy group and is active in Rochester’s local theater scene.
Maggie Fairman Williams (alto), a 2001 graduate (BA, biology/psychology). Williams earned a PhD in biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University and is a lab coordinator and instructor in the Biology Department at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, OH. She has participated in ensembles, including Case Western’s Early Music Singers and the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus.
Trevor Larcheveque (tenor), a 2010 graduate (BS, mechanical engineering). Larcheveque lives in Hudson Valley, NY, and is an application engineer for Siemens Government Technologies. He plays bass and sings harmonies for the Poughkeepsie-based folk-rock band, The Warp/The Weft, which recently released its third album.
Domenick Freda (baritone), a 1997 graduate (BA, English). Freda lives in Grafton, MA, and is a senior IT project manager for the National Grid, Greater Boston area. He has performed with New World Symphony and Chorus, Operaworks, the MIT Gilbert and Sullivan Players, and Apple Tree Arts Community Chorus.
The AU Chamber Orchestra, featuring tenor Boris Van Druff and his wife, Talia, and Luanne Crosby, professor of voice and chorus at Alfred University and director of the AU Chorus and Chamber Singers, will perform Haydn’s Theresa Mass on April 21 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean.
