Cohen Gallery, Cattaraugus County Arts Council offering Basic Business Planning Workshop
ALFRED, NY – Alfred University’s Cohen Gallery, in collaboration with the Cattaraugus County Arts Council (CCAC), is sponsoring a Basic Business Planning Workshop on March 24 from 1-3 p.m. at the Cohen Gallery on Main Street in Alfred.
Betsy Matz, an instructor of accounting for more than three decades, primarily at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford, will lead the workshop, which in part aims to assist art-related businesses. Among the topics that to be discussed are: creating a workable business plan (including financial planning), taxes and tax identification, basic accounting, and cost behavior.
Matz is also a practicing fiber artist and basket weaver who has shown her work broadly at festivals and exhibitions, including 100 American Artists, The Art of Craft (Denver Art Museum) and the Allentown Art Festival, as well as at numerous museum shops and galleries.
