Renowned performance artist Eiko Otake to give Bergren Forum at Alfred University
ALFRED, NY – At the March 22 Bergren Forum, Eiko Otake, renowned performance artist, will give a talk titled "A Body in Places: From Fukushima, to the Met Museum, to Alfred, and many out of the ordinary places along the way."
Otake will discuss the objectives, challenges and findings of her A Body in Places performance project. The solo performance was recently performed to rave reviews at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
She will be on the AU campus for a week-long residency, March 19-23. In addition to presenting at the Bergren Forum, Otake will give two on-campus performances of A Body in Places, Alfred, NY.
In addition to the performances, the residency will include a master class, open rehearsals, and two lectures. The AU School of Art and Design will host a lecture on March 21 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in Holmes Auditorium, Harder Hall. The lecture will focus on Eiko’s performance history.

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies, is held at 12:10 p.m. each Thursday the University is in session in Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center. It is open to the public, free of charge. Attendees may bring their lunches; coffee and tea are provided.
