AU alumna named SUNY associate vice chancellor
Lora Lefebvre, AU class of 1981, is the new State University of New York (SUNY) Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs. Lefebvre is responsible for leading the Office of Academic Health and Hospital Affairs at SUNY system administration.
“I am honored to join the Chancellor and her team to assist SUNY’s health science centers and hospitals in meeting the goals of achieving excellence in the academic and research arenas while maximizing the opportunities offered by healthcare reform at both the State and Federal levels,” said Lefebvre.
The Health Affairs office supports SUNY’s scholastic health enterprise, a mission encompassing four academic health centers and three university hospitals located across the state of New York and their tributary hospitals.
Balancing the demands of fiscal viability and consumer satisfaction for both students and patients of the SUNY system, Lefebvre is a member of the SUNY Chancellor’s cabinet and reports directly to the executive vice chancellor and provost.
Lefebvre graduated from Alfred University with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and went on to attend SUNY University at Albany, earning a master’s degree in public administration.
