AU ranks third in north as U.S. News 2014 'Best Value School'
Alfred University (AU) ranks third on U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Value School” list of regional universities in the north as contained in the publication’s 2014 edition of “Guide to Best Colleges” out today (Sept. 10).
AU is also ranked 30th “best regional university” out of some 135 institutions in the north.
U.S. News considers the regional universities to be those that provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs that tend to draw students most heavily from surrounding states.
Earlier this fall, U.S. News & World Report included AU on its “Short List” of 10 Least Expensive Private Business Schools. With tuition during the 2012-13 academic year at $37,646, the University ranked number 10, one of only two NYS schools to make the list (the other is Rochester Institute of Technology’s E. Philip Saunders College of Business.)
In addition, AU is among the top dozen master’s degree-granting universities in the United States, according to the 2013 Washington Monthly College Rankings, released Aug. 26. The University is also on Washington Monthly’s “Best Bang for your Buck” list, based on best economic value per dollar. AU ranks 214 out of only 349 institutions on this list, out of 1,572 reviewed.
