Bastian Muhr, Theodore Randall International Chair in Painting

Bastian Muhr is an artist living in Leipzig, Germany. He primarily works in painting and drawing and also occasionally realizes large, temporary site-specific works. From 2004 – 2010 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig. Since then, his works have been shown in solo- and group exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Slovakia and the United States. Recent exhibitions include: "Kante" at the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig in 2018, "Schwarzbunt" at Jochen Hempel Gallery in 2017, "Zick-Zack" at Museum Wiesbaden in 2016 and “Über das Geistige in der Kunst” at DG Gallery Munich in 2018. Muhr's works are included in the permanent collections of the Berlin State Museums (Kupferstichkabinett), the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig, the Dresden State Art Collections, Museum Wiesbaden and others.
