Bergren Forum - "SN Refsdal: The Supernova that Wouldn’t Go Away"
Georgina Berestain-KendallVisiting Asst. Prof. of Astronomy Georgina Berestain-Kendall will discuss the 2014 discovery of the first multiply imaged, gravitationally lensed Supernova in the field of the Galaxy cluster MACS J1149, and its subsequent predicted reappearance about a year later. The talk will touch on general aspects of General Relativity, Cosmology, and Stellar Evolution.
