Makers on Main Street
Allegany Artisans Together with FriendsWe hope you will join us for Makers on Main Street on Friday, June 7, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Free and open to the public.
The Village Board has granted permission to hold a Makers Fair on Main Street in conjunction with Reunion. As a result, Main street will be closed to traffic from church Street to the north side of Gallery 2 from 3:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Traffic will be detoured using Lower Campus Drive on the Alfred State Campus.
The Alfred Box of Books is holding a fundraiser with a House Tour of historic homes in Alfred from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Tickets are $20 and are available at the library. Take a tour of Alfred, celebrate the makers in our midst, and stay late for Music til Midnight at the Village Bandstand with Witch Hazel, one of Western NY’s premier rock bands. Free and open to the public.

I would like to invite you to join us during Reunion Weekend 2019 festivities. This year, there are two events which will be held on Friday and Saturday June 7 and 8.
MAKERS: What the Friday event is: an opportunity for makers to show off your skills. We encourage you to offer opportunities for visitors to try out part of your process, with plenty of opportunities for hands-on DIY interactions for adults and children.
What the Friday event is not: a sales venue. We encourage you to show off the “how” of what you do.
What Makers bring: Makers are encouraged to bring a tent, table and chairs. If you need electricity, please indicate so on the enclosed registration form.
Saturday, June 8, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Alfred University is hosting the 3rd annual Allegany Artisans “Together” with Friends Art and Craft Sale in the Galanis Family Arena of the McLane Center. If you would like to make a weekend of it, please join us both days. Friday to share what you do, and Saturday to sell the fruits of your labor.
What the Saturday event is: We require that all items must be original and hand-crafted. Spaces will be assigned on a first come, first served basis and are 10’x10’. If you would like a larger 12’x12’ space or access to an electrical outlet, please make note of this on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate you if space allows. You will receive confirmation and additional show information in late May or early June.
What Art and Craft vendors bring: Vendors are provided a booth space but are responsible for bringing their own tables, chairs, displays, etc.
The participation fee for both events is modest. We ask a reservation fee of $10 for Friday’s Makers on Main Street. The registration for Saturday’s art and craft sale is $20. If you would like to join us for both days, the fee is $20. (In other words, if you join on Saturday, the Friday fee is waived.) You are welcome and encouraged to take part in both days! Fees are strictly used for the advertising budget to promote the health and growth of this unique set of events. Allegany Artisans “Together” With Friends allows all Allegany Artisans to participate and show together, along with local and alumni artists under one roof, making this show a one-of-a-kind- in the Southern Tier! Artists may want to bring a bag lunch, but we will supply names of local area eateries and numbers if needed. New this year we are offering lunch on Saturday (DELIVERED!) from Uncle Alfred’s Sub Shop.
As this is now a 2-day event, some artisans may need housing. If you have an extra room you are willing to offer to your fellow maker, please indicate so on your registration form. If you need housing on Friday night, please indicate so on your registration form. We will put you in touch with one another.
These events are open to the public as well as to our alumni so invite your family and friends to attend! We also ask that if you have social media expertise and are willing to help that you write in on your application what it is that you can contribute.
