Environmental Studies Speaker Series- Cameron Prophet

The Environmental Studies and Geology Division at Alfred University are presenting weekly talks on environmental topics this fall. This year, the presenters all have a connection to the Alfred area, with all speakers having grown up in the area or currently living in Alfred. Because of the pandemic, some of the talks will be in person and some will be given remotely via Zoom. All talks, however, will be available to be joined via Zoom, even if the speaker is here in person.

Please join us this Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 to hear Cameron Prophet give a talk titled "Mitigation of Dam Effects on Desert Riparian Vegetation: The Long-Term Experimental Management Plan for the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park".

After graduating from Alfred-Almond Central School, Prophet received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Alfred University in 2010, and then spent a number of seasons volunteering and working for several land management agencies and conservation organizations, eventually attaining an internship with Grand Canyon National Park. Since 2016, He has held the Invasive Plants Crew Lead position with the Grand Canyon National Park Vegetation Program. Prophet is the son of Becky and Craig Prophet of Alfred. All are welcome to attend the talk (masks and social distancing are required for in person attendance) or join via zoom.

This talk will be available in person and via Zoom. Please contact Shannon Yocum for the zoom link.
