Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are!

A Collection of Queer Art

The Alfred Queer Art collective's Fall 2022 exhibition "Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are!" is commemorating the work of queer artists and the fight for LGBTQIA liberation. The exhibition will take place on the anniversary of the historical, "Great Marches," in Washington D.C in the late 1970s.

The National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights was a large political rally that took place in Washington, D.C. on October 14, 1979. The first such march on Washington, it drew between 75,000 and 125,000 gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender people, and straight allies to demand equal civil rights and urge the passage of protective civil rights legislation.

The exhibition will open on October 7th at 6 pm followed by a queer comedy show at 8pm in Holmes Auditorium.
