Gabrielle Williamson: Goya’s Black Paintings: The Darkness of the World
Gabrielle will examine paintings by one of Spain’s greatest artists of the 18th and early 19th century. Francisco Goya was a painter who, especially in his expressionistic later works, went beyond realism to maintain his authentic dedication to the depressing reality he lived in. His series called the ‘Black Paintings’ carries a deeper meaning of Goya’s reality.

Ronan Adams: Queer Operations on the Digital: a chronological reading of queer interactions with technology
Ronan analyzes how, beginning with Barbara Hammer, lesbian filmmaker whose career began in the late 60’s, to Sadie Benning’s Pixelvision videos in the early 90’s and finally Jane Schoenbrun’s film We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, released in 2021, themes of queer identity and its interactions with the media technologies become clear. By using Hammer and Benning as predecessors speaking to and predicting the internet that becomes central to the film World's Fair a linear analysis of queer relationships to technology will be represented. Through methods of abstraction and nonlinearity these pieces make attempts to understand the complexity of queer relationships with media technologies and the internet.
