Groundbreaking medical school dean, alumnus Dr. Robert L. Johnson '68 to offer Alfred University commencement keynote

Alfred University alumnus Dr. Robert L. Johnson ’68, who broke ground as the only dean in U.S. history to lead two medical schools simultaneously, will deliver the keynote address for Alfred University’s 2023 commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13. Commencement begins at 10 a.m. in the Galanis Family Area, McLane Center.

Lambda Advanced Materials to become newest business at Sugar Hill Industrial Park

Owners of a new ceramic materials firm today signed papers purchasing a piece of land and building at the Sugar Hill Industrial Park in the town of Alfred. Lambda Advanced Materials LLC will become the first company in two decades to take up business at Sugar Hill.

Alfred University faculty, students, alumni to take part in ‘Current,’ the 2023 NCECA Conference

The 2023 National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Conference will be held March 15-18 in Cincinnati, OH. As always, Alfred University will be well represented. More than 50 Alfred University alumni, along with a number of faculty and students, are taking part in the four-day event, which typically draws nearly 5,000 people.

An article by Alfred University's Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering S. K. Sundaram and his former student Sean Locker ’15 (B.S.) ’21 (PhD) that was published in the journal International Journal of Applied Glass Science, in 2020 now is regarded as "top-cited" in its field.
