Alfred University’s School of Art & Design held its annual Senior Show on Saturday, May 6, with 60 Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) students presenting their senior exhibitions.

Alfred University announces new appointments for Gabrielle Gaustad '04 and David Gottfried

Beth Ann Dobie, provost and chief operating officer at Alfred University, announces two new administrative appointments. Effective July 1, Gabrielle Gaustad ’04, dean of the Inamori School of Engineering and vice president for Statutory Affairs, has been named Associate Provost for Research, while David Gottfried, deputy director of the Center for Advanced Ceramic Technology (CACT) has been appointed Government Relations Representative.

MostArts magic continues: Opening Gala Concert July 23 led by conductor Yuval Zaliouk

Yuval Zaliouk, the internationally renowned conductor of symphony orchestras from London to Toledo, OH, joined Alfred University’s MostArts Festival in 2015 and has returned as conductor of the MostArts Festival Orchestra for every Festival since.

A group of Alfred University alumni, faculty and staff, and students contributed to a recently-published article in the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) Bulletin, which discusses the analysis of 3D-printed ceramic materials that spent several months aboard exposed to the outer space environment aboard the International Space Station.

Alfred University recognizes employees for years of service, presents awards

Alfred University held its annual All Employee Recognition Reception on Tuesday, May 9. The event—which honored retirees and employees for years of service—was held in Ade Hall, with light refreshments and beverages.
