Alfred University hosted a day-long event for breast cancer awareness on Wednesday, Oct. 1. "Pink Out Day: Breast Cancer Awareness" was sponsored and organized by the Alfred University Wellness Center and Institute for Cultural Unity. The campus community was invited to participate in the day-long event which honored survivors of breast cancer and supported those currently battling the disease. It included a presentation aimed at raising awareness about early detection and prevention; a community engagement activity; interactive stations that explored wellness resources on campus; a presentation on cultural perspectives on health; and a stress-relief activity. In the photo above, a group gathers by the Fiat Lux! sign, dressed in pink to show solidarity to those who have been impacted by breast cancer.

Alfred University students last week explored their future steps into the professional world through two events hosted recently by the Career Development Center: the Graduate and Professional School Fair on Sept. 18 and the fall Job and Internship Fair on Sept. 25. Altogether, the fairs drew more than 320 students representing more than 40 different majors.
