Housing Waiver Policy

Alfred University has a six semester live on requirement for its students. Only students who are approved via the waiver process are allowed to live off campus.

If you are a GRADUATE STUDENT who is remaining at Alfred University, you do not need to complete the waiver process to move off-campus. For the complete waiver process, please click the link provided at the end of this announcement.

To complete the waiver process please submit a waiver request in the AU Housing Self Service portal. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE FOR OFF CAMPUS HOUSING until you are notified that your waiver has been approved.

Waiver approvals will not occur until final grades have posted in May.

If you have completed the 6 semesters and want to move off-campus, you will need to attend a seminar. These seminars will be conducted virtually via zoom, and the information will be sent out at a later date.

Unless your waiver specifically states that you are waived from campus housing for the remainder of your enrollment at AU, you need to submit a waiver each year.

Students who fail to comply with the Housing Policy will be charged at the double room rate and the lowest meal plan for which they are eligible for each semester registered for classes.
