After five years of silence, the bells of Alfred University’s Davis Memorial Carillon will sound once more. Following inspections and cleaning by the Facilities team, University Carillonneur Laurel Buckwalter will present a special performance.
Installed in 1937, the 47-bell instrument has long been a distinctive part of Alfred’s soundscape, from marking commencements to carrying music across the valley. Friday’s program marks the carillon’s first public performance since 2020, offering the campus and village community the chance to experience its resonance once again.
