Cohen Gallery

Centrally located on Main Street in the village of Alfred, the Cohen Gallery is an educational art center, an ever-evolving creative hub and gathering space for students, faculty, and the community at large. The gallery presents artwork by School of Art and Design faculty, staff, visiting artists, alumni and facilitates community-based projects. Students assist in all aspects of gallery management including curation, exhibition design and gallery sales.

Showcasing artwork by first-year graduate students studying in the School of Art and Design who are rounding the corner into their second and final year. The exhibition will feature small works in a range of media including ceramics, sculpture, video and prints.

This exhibition features work by seven recently hired tenure-track professors: Rebecca Arday, Paul Briggs, Nicki Green, Stephanie Hanes, Anthony Nguyen in collaboration with Taryn Cassella, Kelsey Sucena, and Will Wheeler. The exhibition includes works in ceramics, glass, photography, design, and sculpture.

Pottery Exhibition and Sale

Five accomplished potters and alumni from the School of Art and Design, Rebecca Chappell (MFA 08), Sanam Emami (MFA 02), Ryan Greenheck (MFA 04), Alleghany Meadows (MFA 99), and Kyla Toomey (BFA 04), are showcased at the Cohen Gallery. Collectable pieces including cups, bowls, plates, jars, pitchers, vases and candlesticks will be available for purchase.
