It is tempting, as we mark the end of the $150 million Building on Excellence Campaign, to inundate you with numbers - how much we raised, how many donors, the biggest gifts, the average gift. There are many, many ways to measure the success of a campaign, and I could list all of them for you.

We could tick off the tangible results: the number of endowed scholarships and professorships, the new and renovated buildings, the growth in our endowment, the investment in technology. All important. All significant. All worth celebrating.

But bottom line, there is only one thing that really counts: Do we, as donors to Alfred University, make a difference for the future of AU? The answer would be an unequivocal and resounding “Yes!”

Because the University is not stagnant, but growing, changing and evolving constantly, we are not finished. There is much we still need to accomplish to enhance the University’s academic reputation; to help it attract the best students and faculty; and to invest in technology so critical to what happens in the classrooms and laboratories across campus.
