News Image Alumnus’s Whitman poster design 'appears' to be ‘worth a thousand words’ and more! 7/15/14

Andrew Finnel of Corona, Queens, AU Class of 1967, writes: “A poster I designed and created is being sold at the Walt Whitman Birthplace Museum on Long Island. The poster is almost life size and includes a portrait of Walt Whitman composed of all the words - I mean every single one of them from start to finish - of Whitman’s masterpiece, ‘Song of Myself.’ "

Two alumnae part of ‘BodyTalk’ in Denmark museum show 7/10/14

Two members of the AU Class of 2013, Elizabeth Cote and Heather Joy Puskarich, are represented in a multi-artist museum show, “BodyTalk – 52 Views On Body .... And Gender” at the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft (museum) in Ebeltoft, Denmark. The exhibit runs through Sept. 28, 2014.

News Image May graduate to open Ithaca exhibit 7/03/14

Class of 2014 graduate Samuel C. Guy, who earned a bachelor of fine arts degree, is opening a show at Lot 10, 106 S. Cayuga St., on Friday, July 11, as part of Ithaca’s First Friday Gallery Night. Samuel’s exhibit will be on display at the bar/lounge establishment through Aug. 31.

Alumna has ‘Foot’ in the door of Newark Museum Exhibit 7/01/14

Bette Blank’s “Tattoo Foot” sculpture (wood/paint 2014) is on display in the Newark (NJ) Museum’s “Ready or Not: New Jersey Arts Annual 2014” now through Sunday, Sept. 7. Bette holds AU bachelor of science and master of science degrees in ceramic engineering, classes of 1961 and ’62.
