One
of the fastest growing areas on the collegiate
extracurricular scene today, club sports and activities
are very popular at Alfred University. Our club
programs are all initiated and directed by AU students.
While most clubs are subsidized by the University,
they are largely self-supporting. Student club
members are responsible for the club's organization,
publicity, and fundraising, as well as for scheduling
facilities, arranging transportation, ordering
equipment, and keeping
all financial records.
Club leaders schedule
practice sessions and competitions against similar
groups from other institutions and agencies. Some
clubs are completely non-competitive in their activities
whereas others are very highly competitive.
