Assistantships and Fellowships Alfred University Private Colleges (Master of Arts, Certificate of Advanced Study, and Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology; Master of Business Administration; Master of Science in Education/Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling; Master of Science in Education - Literacy Teacher; and Master of Science in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering) Students applying for admission to private college programs are considered for assistantship funding at the same time the applicant's credentials are reviewed for the admission decision. Award decisions are made by the academic department admission committees, and notification is sent by the graduate program directors. New York State College of Ceramics (Master of Fine Arts, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy) Students applying for graduate study within the New York State College of Ceramics should indicate their interest in a teaching or research assistantship when submitting the application for admission. All supporting material and pertinent information should be submitted at this time. All full-time students admitted to the Master of Fine Arts Program receive a graduate assistantship. No further submission beyond the admission application is required. Federal and University Funding Application for and the awarding of federal need-based aid and University funds is coordinated through Alfred University's Student Financial Aid Office. Graduate students wishing to be considered for University and federal aid (Stafford Loan, Perkins Loan, and Work-Study) are to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and an Alfred University Financial Aid Application. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Go to Filing Forms. The FAFSA is the form required by the federal government to collect the financial data necessary to determine if the student is eligible for federal financial aid funding. A FAFSA is sent to all graduate students who are accepted for admission to Alfred University. Alfred University Financial Aid Application (AU AP) Alfred's Financial Aid Application is sent to all new graduate students who are accepted for admission to Alfred University. Returning graduate students may pick up the AU AP at the Financial Aid Office in December. This application should be returned directly to the University's Student Financial Aid Office. To access the AU Ap, go to Filing Forms. New York State Grant/Scholarship Application Go to Filing Forms. All New York State residents applying for University assistantships and fellowships are required to apply for a NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The TAP application process is initiated by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
