Often families find it necessary to seek additional or alternative financial options to supplement existing resources for meeting the costs of higher education. This page provides a brief description of several alternative educational financing options available to Alfred University families. Alfred does not endorse any one program as the best source. Decisions as to which programs are most desirable for a family's needs will depend on each family's specific financial circumstances, goals, and objectives. We encourage families to review carefully all available opportunities before making a final decision.
Monthly Payment Plan: Tuition Management Systems 1.800.356.8329; www.afford.com/alfred
Alfred University offers a flexible monthly payment plan through Tuition Management Systems (TMS). The plan is not a loan and there is no interest or finance charge. The annual participation fee is $60 for 2007-2008. This program allows a family to choose a payment plan and payment options which will meet their individual needs. Families may budget all or a portion of University charges for an academic year or a semester and make monthly payments. The amount and number of the monthly payments will vary by family depending upon the amount budgeted, when the plan is initiated, and if the plan is for a semester or an academic year. Payment options include checks, credit card, and direct withdrawal. The University will provide all students with additional information and an enrollment form beginning in May of each year, or families may contact TMS directly and enroll anytime on-line or by telephone (see above for website and telephone number). Their address is Tuition Management Systems / P.O. Box 842722 / Boston, MA 02284-2722.
If you have questions about University charges, billing, or required payments, contact the Alfred University Student Service Center at 607.871.2123.
