| Financial Aid Awarded to 2007-2008 Freshmen |
| As the charts below illustrate, Alfred University coordinates a comprehensive financial aid program designed to meet the needs and diverse economic circumstances of our student body.
The family income ranges are based on total parental income. The average award includes all need-based grants, scholarships, student loans, and work-study awards from federal, state, and University sources. The average grant considers both need-based and scholarship aid. The average loan reflects only student need-based loans.
There is no automatic cut-off for aid eligibility at a certain income level. Many factors other than income, such as assets, family size, and number of family members in college, are taken into consideration. Your actual financial aid eligibility may vary from the ranges below based on your family's specific circumstances. Therefore, Alfred University urges all students to apply and receive an official certification of their eligibility.
In addition to participating in all applicable federal and state aid programs, the University provides a substantial commitment from its own resources for scholarship, need-based grant and loan opportunities. Alfred University awards University-funded aid in conjunction with a need-blind admission policy.
During the 2007-08 academic year, University-funded aid sources provided over 18 million dollars to undergraduate students. 95% of the freshman class received some form of financial assistance.
