For the college programs leading to the degree of Master of Arts/Certificate of Advanced Study, and Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology; Master of Science in Education/Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling; Master of Science in Education - Literacy Teacher; and Master of Business Administration, full-time tuition (12-18 credits per semester) is $36,736 for the 2012-13 academic year.
For the college programs leading to the degree of Master of Fine Arts; Master of Science in Engineering; and Doctor of Philosophy in Ceramics, Glass Science, or Materials Science and Engineering, full-time tuition (12-18 hours per semester) is $21,758 for the 2012-13 academic year.
Part-time graduate students, enrolled for fewer than 12 credit hours, are billed at the part-time instruction rate. The 2012-13 part-time rate is $782 per credit hour.
The student service fee is $910 per year for full-time students and $152 per year for part-time students for 2012-13. The student service fee supports student activities and organizations and subsidizes the campus health care center.
On-campus housing for graduate students is very limited. Most graduate students live off-campus.
The average off-campus living cost is $11,498 per year.
Students living off-campus (not with parents) are provided the above estimated average cost for room and meal plan expense and financial aid budgets.
Off-campus students may choose from several different meal plan options ranging in cost from $2,216 (77 meals per semester) to $5,598 (300 meals per semester) per year.

Personal Expenses: $1,700 per year

Tuition, fees, room and meal plan charges are determined by the Alfred University Board of Trustees. Over the past several years annual tuition and fee increases have been in the 3-4% range and room and meal plan increases have been in the 0-4% range.
