Dr. Paul Strong has been Director of Alfred's Honors Program since 1985.
A graduate of Colby College and The University of Wisconsin,
Madison, Dr. Strong teaches English -- most often poetry
and recent American literature. He loves painting and
feels most at peace in an art museum. There's a soft
spot in his heart for his golden retrievers, past and
present -- Sundance (Sunny), Saltwater Taffy (Salty)
and Siena Seadog (Siena), and his love for these creatures
is shared by his wife Susan, and his children, Mike
and Amy. He writes the Honors Newsletter, Sublunary
Life, and, as anyone who has read it knows, he likes
