Retired professor to speak at Environmental Sciences Forum 11/13/03
Dr. Peter Finlay will present the next lecture in the Environmental Studies Speakers Series Friday (Nov. 14) at 12:20 in room 228 of the Science Center.
His title is "A Trip to the Galapagos." Dr. Finlay was a professor of biology in Alfred University's College of Liberal Arts & Sciences for 34 years. During this time he taught a variety of courses including biology, general zoology, cytology and embryology, as well as introductory courses. In addition to teaching, Dr. Finlay worked on a variety of projects during his teaching career at Alfred University, including projects on Seneca and Keuka Lakes. Dr. Finlay was also very active in the Environmental Studies program at Alfred for many years prior to his retirement in 1990. Dr. Finlay received his bachelor's degree in biology from Williams College, his master's degree from the University of Vermont, and a Ph.D. from Syracuse University. The Environmental Studies Speakers Series, held every Friday while the University is in session, is from 12:20 to 1:10 p.m. in room 228 of the Science Center. The public is invited with no charge. Refreshments will be served. |
