Music students, brass choir to present recital

The Alfred University Division of Performing Arts will present a student recital featuring the AU Brass Choir on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. in the Miller Performing Arts Center, Room 301. Admission is open to the public free of charge.

Pianists Sharifa Barrow, a junior communication studies major from Brooklyn, Rich Engles, a senior electrical engineering major from West Valley, NY, and Miyuki Ochi, from Japan, will perform works by Clementi, Joplin, and Liszt.

Jorg Pomplun, a student from Germany, will perform a work by Mozart on the violin, accompanied by Ochi. Barrow and Ochi, along with University Carillonneur Laurel Buckwalter, will be performing several works for piano four-hands.

The AU Brass Choir is under the leadership of Dr. Chris Foster, director of bands.

The students in this recital are from the studios of Buckwalter and Foster.
