'Bamboozle Roadshow' highlights Alfred's annual Hot Dog Day event

Alfred University will host a large-scale outdoor concert immediately following the annual spring charity festival — Hot Dog Day — co-sponsored annually by the University and its neighbor Alfred State College.

The Bamboozle Roadshow, comprised of five bands, begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, in the parking lot of McLane Center on the AU campus.

Headlining the show are We the Kings and Forever the Sickest Kids, with openers The Cab, Mercy Mercedes, and Never Shout Never. The performance will include some hit songs including We the Kings’ “Check Yes Juliet,” and Forever The Sickest Kids’ “Hey Brittany.”

The concert will be an alcohol-free event and food vendors will create a “festival feel” within the concert. There will be a no-readmit policy so attendees will be encouraged to stay for the entire experience.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the AU Bookstore and Center for Student Involvement, Powell Campus Center, as well as the Orvis Activities Center on the Alfred State College campus. A limit of one ticket can be purchased for $5 with an Alfred University or Alfred State College student identification. Additional tickets and tickets for the public are also available at these locations for $10.

The Bamboozle Roadshow is the traveling version of The Bamboozle Festival held the first weekend in May at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ. To hear songs by the bands or to learn more, visit: The Bamboozle Roadshow.

The concert is co-sponsored by the Alfred University Student Activities Board which receives its funding through the Student Senate. Questions can be directed to Dan Napolitano, director of Student Activities at or 607.871.2175.

Proceeds from Hot Dog Day activities are distributed to local charities.
