MEDFORD, MA — Shawn Ross (Ticonderoga, NY/Ticonderoga), a sophomore on the Alfred University men’s track and field team, placed eighth in the shot put at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) indoor track and field championships, held Friday and Saturday at Tufts University.

Ross registered a throw of 14.23 meters as Alfred finished 49th in the team standings. He was the Saxons’ lone representative in the championships.

The ECAC meet wraps up a solid indoor season for Ross, who was a Second Team Empire 8 Conference all-star in the shot put and had five top-five finishes, including a second place at the New York State indoor championships.
