ALFRED, NY — The Alfred University men’s tennis team beat visiting Keuka College, 5-4, Thursday afternoon.

Alfred (5-7, 2-4 Empire 8) got singles wins from sophomore Connor Houghton (Orleans, MA/Nauset Regional), 6-0, 6-4 in first singles; freshman Nathan Garletts (Havertown, PA/Haverford), 6-2, 6-0 in third singles; and senior Nick Middaugh (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley), 6-2, 6-1 in fourth singles.

Houghton and freshman Nathan Kucko (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) took their first doubles match, 8-2, and Garletts and sophomore Ryan Parlia (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream South), won their second doubles match, 8-2.

Alfred is in action next on Friday, April 17, at 3:30 p.m. at home against St. John Fisher.
