ALFRED, NY — The Alfred University men’s tennis team beat dropped a 6-3 decision to visiting Empire 8 Conference foe St. John Fisher Friday afternoon.

Alfred (5-8, 2-5 Empire 8) got singles wins from sophomore Connor Houghton (Orleans, MA/Nauset Regional), 6-2, 6-0 in first singles, and freshman Nathan Kucko (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 15-13 in second singles.

Houghton and Kucko took their first doubles match, 8-1.

Alfred wraps up its season this afternoon at 1 p.m. at Utica.
