ELMIRA, NY - The Alfred University women’s soccer team lost to host Elmira College 2-1 Saturday afternoon.

Senior Carly Schrader (Vestal, NY/Vestal) netted one goal for Alfred (1-2-1, 0-1-0 E8) in the second half. Sophomore Shanna Ewoldt (Tuscon, AZ/Waubansie) had 18 saves in her 90 minutes of action for the Saxons.

Rachel Bromson scored both goals for Elmira (2-1-0, 1-0-0 E8). Bromson’s second goal was assisted by Kristyn O’Rourke. Karissa Wilson made four saves in goal for Elmira.

Alfred is in action next Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. against visiting Nazareth.
